Fun times…

So… What have we been up to? The beach was nice.
No day is complete without a few games of table tennis…
Today was Andrew’s Birthday. Tomorrow is Switzerland’s birthday. It is a holiday, and I think we will have a barbeque on the lake in Zurich. We’ll see how all that goes. I have a lesson and training in the evening, so it may be a bit rushed.
How are you?

2nd podium, 1st win!
Posted on July 29, 2007
Today’s wet and windy marathon in Germany was my first win of the season, and first ever in Europe. Before leaving Canada in April, I can’t say I ever expected to be saying this, but in tough conditions, and on a three-man break for the last 30km of the 42km race, I came across 1st!!!
This really deserves more detail, but it is 2am, and I just got home, and finished cleaning bearings 10 minutes ago.
More to come…

Party tomorrow night.
Posted on July 26, 2007
Drinks, games, and foul language.
BYOB, and leave your purse at home.
I invented a game we are going to play.
I expect it to be awesome.
It’s called ‘Name that cock’
…and no, don’t worry. Everyone keeps their clothes on.
Anyway, I haven’t done this in a while;
26/07/07
Ride time: 2:05:51
Avg. HR: 125bpm
Max HR: 184bpm
HR Zone (135-170)
Time in zone: 0:52:44
above: 0:01:40
below: 1:11:27
Kcal: 1124
Distance: 50.1km
Avg. Speed: 23.9km/hr
Max Speed: 66.9km/hr
Avg. Cadence: 84rpm
Max Cadence: 126rpm
It was a beautiful ride, and I felt great afterwards. The max HR is a bit misleading. It was super easy, but Finn and I raced up a pretty decent climb in 53/11. He won, but not by much . I wished a few times that I had remembered my camera which I left on the ping pong table. Oh, that reminds me… I made a ping pong table for the house. It is a fridge, a bike case, and a big slab of wood. Basically, it’s awesome.

So, I was thinking…
Posted on July 25, 2007
For some of my multi-lingual friends, I thouhgt I would make things easy and include some links to translated versions of the WIC race reports that I have written so far. Here are all of them that are of any substance. Several arndt exactlyflattering, and you will probably find that they show my progress and improvement so far this year. I hope things continue. :)
Also, I am sure that the translation is not perfect.

Zug + Nurtingen (German race)
Posted on July 24, 2007
Hi all!
On Sunday I went to a race in Germany. On a 1.2km circuit we had a points race. I came 2nd behind Danny Finster of Australia [Spirotiger] and Christian Domscheit of Germany [Zepto] was 3rd. I will write a real report on the race later, but I found these pictures and thought I would post them when I posted the Zug report. It is finally up. Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

PS: I am normally really good about wearing the right (sponsor’s) gear on the podium…

Great tour. Chicken in Yellow.
Posted on July 21, 2007
Hey all…
Its been busy, but I put in some effort.
Things are great, I am racing in Germany tomorrow. I put up the Einsiedeln report (finally). Take a look.
Sorry for the rushed post, but I had to do a bunch of work on the site changing the China race to Einsiedeln, and making sure the links arndt broken.
Did I mention that I was in Briancon? It was spectacular. I think I will catch the Finale in Paris. Yay me.

TOUR DE FRANCE
Posted on July 19, 2007
OK, no posts, but good reason. Just got back from catching a stage of the tour. It was awesome.
Will post soon. I have a report half finished on Einsedeln, and Zug went alright, though a REALLY long sprint put me in 26th again, though I think I can do better.
soon, I promise.

Muich ISPO
Posted on July 11, 2007
Hi all,
For the pasat few days I have been in Munich, helping and working at the ISPO for Ezeefit Sports and Bont. It was an incredible show, and I am glad to have the experience from start to finish. I drove there with Dani Grab of Inlinecenter, then spent the rest of the show with Susan Hirsch, Debbie Rice, Alex Bont, and Sue Youn. Without internet, I haven’t updated, but was hoping that you have all checked out the Engadin Report. I raced in Einsiedieln on Sunday (placing 20th after an attack and getting caught by the field with ~400m to go), and haven’t yet had a chance to write anything about it. I am racing in Zug on Saturday, so I had better get my ass in gear. What did you think of the last report? It was a bit long, but I thought it was a good read. I am leaving for home in a few hours, and will have to wait until after that to write anything about the last race.
I am also thinking about hoping on a train into northern Italy this week, and I am heading to Eatern France to catch Stage 9 of the Tour Tuseday of next week. I am really looking forward to it. I should be somewhere atop the Col du Galibier, near Briancon. Some may recognize the city as it also srved as the finish city in Stage 12 of the 2007 Giro d’Italia where DiLuca recaptured the Pink Jersey (Maglia Rosa) for good as I probably mentioned earlier.
I gotta run.
Lovin’ life,
