I’m not in much of a hurry to fill this out. Frankly it’s rather depressing. But, I do think it’s the start of a good read. I thought i would catagorize the future post into headings. I started a race report like this for a few races, and it seemed cool to me. Here goes for now:
The race: The start of the Weinfelden race; style, course, speeds, who’s doing what etc…
The crash: How it all started; who did what, and why, and how things happened… fault?
The impact: After a crash like that, what does the body do?
The carnage: With 50 bodies laying around, many not concious, the scene was gnarly. Observations, comments, and visual interprutations.
Ouch!: Amongst all the happenings, my leg, obviously + definately broken freaked me out. Gross!
Race Course Triage: Head and suspected spinals first… They ran out of ambulances! The wait begins. Looking back, I should have been more vocal. I was trying to be perfectly calm and rational, and was last to leave the scene…
The injury: X-rays, surgery this, surgery that… another shreaded skinsuit and skin… suit.
Hospital: they stay begins:
“like building a porch”: More surgery, this time cluttered with insurance communications…
Prognosis and re-hab: What exactly do you mean by “club foot”?
Friends and family: What a whole lotta love…

…this just in: High Road spends day shopping at Eddie Bauer… appearantly.
Does anyone think Boonen will be watching the Tour this year? How’d you take that news, Martin H?

I think I’ll spend some time back on this site sooner than I thought. But in the meantime, “Tour’s on!” :)

I’ll work on getting something on this site, but right now I am busy dealing with a whole new reality in front of me.
Just wanted to come on to say that I am (will be) ok. I will be posting some photos and explanations when I can but it will take some time.
Right now, I just have to take a second here now to send out my gratitude for all the support, well wishes, concern, and company from my friends and family from in and out of the skating world. Big thanks. :) I love you all.
